Hi

I'm new here, but this comp sounds like great fun. I'm entering this comp with a redesign of the bio-rifle. I did a few sketches and decided to elaborate on the circled gun.
...More later

First night's modeling. This gun is going to be roughly the same size as the original bio-rifle with a large compact body to retain some unreal style. This is the base shape from which I will continue from.

Please people, no more questions!

Here it is. My regurgitator gun. For the mouth piece I drew some visual inspiration from a leguana, but the end result looks more like a fish. It's suppose to look as if the gun spits goo. I've tried to give the gun some character to make it easily recognisable in both 1st person and world view. It's unwrapped now. So all that's left is the texture. PC is well within range.

Thoughts, feedback?

Why 'lo thar Nkoste.

Personally I think it looks quite small, like a pistol, rather than a bio-rifle. The handle also looks rather in-proportioned, the hole in it is too big in relation to the trigger. I like the area at the back of the gun (with the sort of vent hole). This should look good with your texturing abilities.

I agree with the last comment that you could tweak the proportions a little to make the gun more bulky and imposing, just to give it some balls and chest hair

definetly one of the more original designs so far though, it looks like a spitting penguin in your concept

Ha - spitgun is the general idea, be it penguin, lizard or fish. About the shape- I think the Bio-rifle is one of the more unique weapons in the UT arsenal. Is shoots goo, which is a soft and round material and I tried to work some of those characteristics into the design. This is as bulky as it'll get I guess, much like the original bio-rifle. It's smaller, less bulky, but massive.

I hope to begin some textures today.

I'm going tomake a daring attempt showing a texture wip already now. Still very WIP, but I've got the design planned out.

PS: no lighting - 100% self illuminated.
