Nice progress on your assault rifle. The design and model looks good!
You should add some more details to the parts that are visible in first person. Could you provide a first person view render of the weapon?

Looking good so far, one suggestion for the time being; do the sight eyepiece as a normal map, you'd be able to get it perfectly round and because it isn't silhouetting it's self against the background, the player would be none the wiser.
