Alchemist101

Hi

I've been looking for a new place to live so its been hard to get a start on this. I've been sketching a few ideas out at work and settled for this double barrel shock rifle.

I've got an fairly clear idea in my head but when I put it down on paper from the side it kept coming out looking like a super-soaker, but it wont look like that in 1st person........ hopefully

So heres the concept I came up with at work today, there's an inner core in the rifle that you cant really see on this sketch

There's no reason to model any part that doesn't appear in the first person view as it eats into your resources.

Personally, I plan to model the whole of the gun just to have a 3rd person pick-up version, and to be able to present the weapon in its entirety. Just for fun, and who know, maybe get it into a game someday.

hhhhmmmmmmm. I blocked in some more of the middle section this morning but it looks like a goddamn dyson or something. So back to the drawing board with that section, I'll try and finish the high poly tonight and start cutting in some details

Looks pretty cool Alchemist101! I like the design and translation to 3D. At the moment it looks quite good from the side, but I imagine the 1st person view looks slightly undetailed. Maybe you could post a picture ...

thanks for the comments guys

I did a little bit more tweaking of the shapes tonight. It looks less like a vacuum attachment now I think

Very cool. It could use a little more bulk in the width, but it looks nice and had some good details.
