chris - I have 2 little questions if you dont mind....
In your post that you showed how to setup the camera and plane to fake an in-game view you said to set the FOV at 90. Do you know what the equivalent of this in Maya? Your normal map has turned out great especially on the top section, do you have smoothing groups applied to your low res when you bake the normal maps? |

The low rez base should be completely smooth when baking and whent he normal is applied (allows the normal map to use a wider range of lighting angles beyond what's modeled) Edit: Wanted to add, yes, I plan to add a lot more color, and maybe find use for a glow map. tonight's update:
Still cleaning some things up, but got some major improvements in this evening. Also added a glow map and some color variation. There's some temp ideas down, but should give an idea... http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/2053/glch08ym9.jpg Last edited by chris holden; 07-10-2006 at 01:30 AM. |

Meh, looks sucky.
![]() Seriously though, it's looking fantastic. However, I'd suggest losing the luminous green and just going with red for all of the glowing areas, since I think it works better with the shade of green that you appear to be using for most of the weapon. ![]() |
