R2D gave the go ahead for me and Pete to pair up on this one, so yeah. Anyhoo, I dont know about Pete, but I'm a fan of all things "railgun-ish". And in UT2004, the closest thing to that would have to be the Lightning Rifle. So here is my first concept draft, going to ink it in PS sometime tomorrow.

Only problem I see with it is the grip, it would be rather uncomfortable to hold. Looks very nice though,

Not much done, pete did the base of the "receiver" and the basic layout. I'm merely building on it and trying to shape it accordingly.
