So uh.. Do you have to both model and skin it?
And if so, can you partner up with a seperate skinner?

Pete and I went there, and from what he was told it wasn't allowed, but a "paired" compo will be around eventually. Just going from what Req said to Pete on MSN.

ps. sup.

Like it says on the rules:

Maximum Textures
1024x1024 Diffuse
1024x1024 Specular (optional)
1024x1024 Bump / Normal (optional)
1024x1024 Alpha (optional)
1024x1024 Glow (optional)

The diffuse aka color is the only texture map that isn't optional, so yep, you haveto texture it, I don't think there would be a problem if you and your mate worked on it, it doesn't state in the rules anywhere, but you'd haveto fight for the prize .

By the way, count me in. I'm going for, quite obviously I think, a sniper rifle. High-optic scope time

Which one of these weapons makes a short beam (railgun like)?
And which one makes a long "lightning" beam? My guess is the Lightning Gun.. but the comment says it gives 70% damage... so I'm guessing it's a one laser shot weapon and not like the Quake3 lightning gun where the lightning keeps going as you keep pushing the fire button.

I find it really hard to design a weapon when not knowing how UT weapons shoot (I never played it and I never will )

*edit*
Doylle explained it.. I'll be doing the link gun

Nice competition, I'm in aswell, already got a concept for a link gun.
Paired project would be somewhat unfair imo since noone can be as good alone as two people can be if they stick toghether and split the work.
