@ Tom: The silhouette is probably the most important thing when modeling, and with a tricount this low, you should only ad geometry if it adds to a better silhouette (well, "theoretically"). Take for example the eye. the extra geometry there is pointless... The jaw-thing i explained before, the rest of the body has similar proportional flaws imo, (like the width of his thighs). If you look at Cox' wire, you'll see that it's very clean, and that everything adds to the silhouette, which it really should...

@Ploon: The concept wasn't to bad, but imo it kinda went a bit downhill from there. the modeling was imo a bit to basic, especillly the environment, which i remember was basically a cone. And the texturing really disappointed me a bit. There's just so little details. The face is brown, the cave is brown, (and looks very photosourced), more painted details could've pushed this allot further. Tatoo's/scars on the monsters face, "rockpaintings" on the cave walls, things like that.

I hope that's explains it somewhat for you guys... I don't want to break anyone down, i really tried to make the crits i gave to be at least a little constructive...

Thanks a lot for the feedback guys.

I just want to say that the monster was supposed to be a stylized version of the one in the remake of "Godzilla". So the oversized bottom jaw and all was on purpose. Anyway, clearly my own fault since I didn't make that more noticable. Also thanks for the tips doylle.

See you in the next comp

Thanks for replying Doylle - I take on board what you are saying, I'm my own worse critic and didnt expect to get too high a mark for an entry that took in total about 10 hours to complete Yeah i was lazy with the rock texture, but I was just trying to catch an atmosphere anyway. It was just I felt that a 1 was overly harsh for a mostly handpainted texture.

thanks again though, looking forward to the next comp
