Comeptition #16 - weasel.acuh5o

Hi all,

looking forward to this comp, should be great fun to do something with severe restrictions on the tech specs.

I'm going for a 3/4 view shooter game boss. Like any good boss it breaks through the metal ground tiles of some research facility, comes with plenty of weapons and more metal than meat on it's bones. Haven't done any env sketches yet, just picture a doom style research lab.

And yes, the color scheme and overall built is shamefully lifted of Greg Capullo's Creech.

The design will change somewhat, my drawing skills aren't quite up to my imagination yet, but you should get the idea. I'll segment the tentacles (think chain links), but couldn't really be bothered to draw them up.

A bunch of head sketches. I did them mostly for inspiration, so they're probably too rough to be helpful for anybody but me, but I figured I'd post them anyway.

finally found some time to get some work done on this. geo is about 90% there (I hope), comming in at 2900 tris right now. I'll be spending the remaining ones on minor fixes and some tweakage.

The hands aren't attached to the mesh at this moment since I'll (hopefully) rework them because I went a bit nuts during the optimisation phase...

thanks for the comments, guys.

I've finished unwrapping the char to a 256x512 patch, I'll throw on some colors on it tomorrow and post updates.
