Technically I think the spec could have done with stronger contrasts and strong highlights near edges as it currently just feels like a grayscale diffuse.

snake85027: Object <> larger world geometry polycount seems a bit unbalanced. In general I am missing atmosphere and composition.

seanv: I am missing nice lighting, and I am having trouble understanding the concept, apart from it being a cobra chair.

Fleistad: Nice scene, good lighting, materials, and geometry. Slight lack of thematic execution though, only the morgue door really points out what the place is. It feels like a weird mix between a proper morgue and a factory.

Insulaner: Nice textures, nice consistent color pallet in the textures too. Materials could have used some work, everything looks kind of dull as if it are only diffuse textures. The body kind of blends away in the scene which is bad because it should be the focus. In a dramatic situation like this strongly contrasted lighting would have been nice. Also the warm yellow lighting makes it feel much too cozy for a murder scene.

martini:
It is a bit too shiny and clean for me, but style aside it is pretty nice. There is nothing that really makes it stand out though.

Docm30: The pillars do not support anything. I think something nice could have been done with the window shining blue light onto the knight, making it stand out. The model and textures are fairly good.

maxguyday:
Triangulation of the two walls could have been better. It seems to use sharp stencil shadows for the lighting, would have been better with soft stencils or baked lighting, and some darker more moody lighting. The scene is nice though.

BARBEERIAN:
The scene is too dark and lighting composition is pretty non existent The lightsources seem to have minimal impact on the world. The models themselves are pretty nice though.

Ahashem: I like the scene and the amount of detail, but I think it is a shame that the lighting and presentation is so bad. Also the ceiling should have been lower to make the models fill up the room more.

decs: Bit of a strange concept/theme, but great textures and colors.

giles: Weird concept, I don't really see what I am looking at. The bad lighting also makes it hard to see what is really going on.

rahulkul2003:
Hard to so see wireframe but looks ok. Looks fairly low poly for being 10k though. Lighting is pretty dark and unsourced, it doesn't really create much of a composition.

ozgur:
Cool scene, would have liked seeing some more color variation tho, either in the textures or the lighting. Good modeling.

Digitalwerk: Great scene, I feel like the lighting could have been sourced a bit better, but the texturing, geometry, and style itself is great.

fantasticatore: Texturing is a little simple and the geometry could have been more done more efficient here and there. The scene looks pretty ok though, with the exception of the window which feels out of place and fake.

Indavisual: I think that the colors are a bit harsh, especially the green wallpaper. I also think that the pillars feel out of place for this kind of environment, or the other way around, that the wallpaper is out of place.

cook5000: Great composition and a nice style. Decent use of colors, and nice texturing. All in all a nice environment.

Special thanks go out to our judges - Sjoerd 'Hourences' De jong, Stefan Morrell, and Dennis Griesheimer, and to our sponsor, Ballistic Publishing.

See you for our next competition!
