arachnida atilleria!
This is my first entry into anything but have been playing about with modo max and maya for a while, slow going ! I am gonna ask the silliest question, if the limit is 1000 triangles does that equate to 500 polygons, stupid question I know and you are all laughing, and if it doesnt can someone point me in the direction of tutorial for very stupid man who thinks he knows a bit about 3d but clearly does not!
With that out of the way I am going to enter an artillery spider currently 488 polys Getting back to the model, so far all in modo, a spider with eight eyes (HAL inspired red dots) and an artillery cannon in the middle of the eye, got some polys to play with so will see how it looks textured thanks Last edited by nathanholmes05; 12-07-2008 at 01:41 AM. |

Not necessarily. A 3-sided polygon is a polygon and a tri but a 4-sided polygon is made up of two tri's. So you could have four poly's and if two of them are tri's, you have 6 tri's total. To be clear, if you have 500 poly's, there is no way you could be OVER the 1000 tri limit unless you had an Ngon somewhere in which case, shame on you
but you could definitely have 500 poly's and be well under the 1000 tri limit since 3-sided poly's are still counted as poly's.For instance: Every face is considered a poly, so you have the two ends and the three sides = 5 poly's total. If you counted tri's, since the ends are already tri's, and each of the other faces is made up of two tri's, you would only have 8 and not 10 as you would expect. ![]() I hope this made sense, just tryin to help out Last edited by ahopps01; 11-07-2008 at 06:26 PM. |
