Wow! Those colors really help the details pop. Definitely dirty it up and fade/chip the paint. Paint lightens as it fades, so you can get a lot of that dark blue light enough to let you have some shadows even on the dark parts.

Sweet as a nut That's come out nice, I think your concept is perfect for this polycount, since the shape is simple enough and all the detail is close to the surface. I was gonna say that you could maybe push for a more scratched and battered texture, but on second glance I can see there's some suggestion of that in. If you wanna make it look like he's been through hard times, maybe you could push that further so it's a feature you notice immediately.

Depends on which way you want to go I suppose... lovely job that man...

Great improvement! The wings are great and the refinement of the diffuse map really puts it over the top.

thanks guys, im not done yet though haha. tommorow night im gonna sort alot of things out and then the beauty renders a coming.

Im not that happy with the wings at the moment so im gonna thin out the black and then colour em up and redo the normal maps for them. should take bout 5 mins. the shoulder pads are getting lost which I think is because the normal maps arent strong enough, so up the intensity on them. also the scratches I have done on her look great close up but look non existent in the renders, and because the beauty shot is 800x600 you are not gonna see em so that needs looking at. also the spec needs a lil work.

I also gotta come up with an idea for my background for the final render. im not too worried as its not a main part for the judging but maybe a nice render is just what is needed to show off the model.

cheers guys and good luck

its 5.42AM and I havent gone to bed yet, but finally, I think im done I find it really hard to know when to stop but its come out quite well in my eyes. I didnt think a beauty shot would take this long.

Thank you everyone for your kind and constructive comments. best of luck to everyone.

Im gonna sleep now before I collapse
