Great progress so far!

Your new left hand makes me think of pens like this. Perhaps something like that would work here, where there are several different needles in the same housing, and he has to push a color-coded button to get the right needle to stick out.

Just a thought.

I'm still here!

Pearson, hmm nice idea, but i like the needles to be visible at all times since that would be easier to illustrate in a still image.

Decided to build the low poly first, since it will be easier to make a backpack and some cloth in lowpoly. And since there's only 1 week left i have to rush it a bit

Here is the progress so far.



Also tried a quick bake and it seems to be holding up.
The polycount is now at 1056, so i'll just continue modeling like this and cut it down later.

very nice and clean model man, both highpoly and lowpoly, it make me really nervous, you know what i mean, the ability to work clean, good shape definition is very hard to achieve, which you got already! 5 star man!

long time no update. Was very busy with work and basically was burned out when i got home. But now i got a week of vacation (bad timing).
Anyway, this is the progress on the lowpoly so far. It still needs some accesoires, and i'm already over budget. Its at 2.139 polys at the moment... :'( lots of optimizing to do. I wish we had 2000.

I'm starting to wonder if people are counting polygons or triangles :P

Not sure if you're counting pollies or triangles, but in case it's actually 999 polygons, some of them being quads.. then I hate to break it to you Chris, but:

It's 999 tris at the moment, and 698 polys.

Oh my god, that was one hell of a rush job :S the texture came out pretty bad!

Ah well, here is the final. I might make a better effort the coming week, but of course that wont count for this competition.
