It's called "Extatosoma tiaratum," but more commonly known as "Macleay's spectre." I initially wanted to make a sort of sniper class insect, but by using the Macleay's spectre- this may prove difficult. They are however known for their great camouflage so that's a plus. Here are a few pages about them.

Wow, that's some crazy looking insect.

I've held one of those things before, they're totally sweet. You can shake and whip your arm to death and they don't let go.
