Competition #13 - Valandar

I decided to go with something a little different - an organic solar sailor and its escort. I haven't looked through any of the other threads, so I don't know if it's similar to anything else out there yet:

It is as-yet unmapped, and the poly count for this vessel is 4460. Yes, I know this means I only have 2540 for the escort, but it's intended to be simpler, anyway.

My biggest problem is going to be the crystals - i have no clue how to skin them to have any sort of realism.

welll... uhm... i gota say its original :P, it reminds me of a dragonfly, or a bug, space bug but the shapes are nice

Umm, It sort of lacks aerodynamic design, because it's all planty, so it's hard to see which direction it moves. which way? left or right?

I don't get it.. Is it living? If so how does it breathe/eat?
I love the idea but the execution is bugging me. If you ditched the green and made it metal I think it would look a lot more badass. Just my opinion though. (Every time I look at your model I picture the Matrix's Sentinel.)
