Competition #13 - cnflkt

Okay just saving a spot and posting my ideas at the moment.

here something i sketched for a fighter/scout class
still needs work on the "wings" and engine gubbins

Kind of a mix with art deco and tech.

Its definitly deco which is a good thing imo. Loving the reference to old planes and even the frontgrill of a car :P

I'd definitely make your bulges wider. Give it some more width to the silhouette.

Looking quite nice so far, only thing I'm somewhat unsure about would be the front grill

Oh, and by the way!

you might want to angle the nose out a little give it a slight slant.. and so the same for the wings. sweep them back a little. art deco tended to use sharp angles.. not JUST 90* ones.if you give those 2 a slight angle it will be alot more interesting..

An update:

Fighter:

design is still under refinement. Thinking about pinching the nose in.

Cruiser:

got the silhouette down, just working balancing and styles.
Hardest part was keeping the ship designs as a family of ships, trying to make sure the belong together. spent a few days working ideas then coming back reworking try new things
took a while be go there eventually

Anyway tried to give reference again to artdeco styling with reference to early 50s planes and bombs.

I'm tweaking the balance a bit with engine size and count, having different sizes along the wing. Different sizes might be a texture limitation rather than a design one but we'll see
dragging verts isn't anything drastic.
not really happy with current docking detail, under the wing... feels a bit hashed out anyway few be would be nice.

Thanks for the comment.

I have been worrying it might be a little too plane like though.
