Hey man, your textures getting better and better
The sistership texture looks a bit flat right now, but i guess its because its still without normals and specular map. The thing i would recomend to change, its background, not much liking it. Good luck finishing it. |

I rather like the background. I think it forces you to make the ship pop more, which I agree needs to happen at the moment.
Are you going for a Mass Effect-esque Normany/Mako shean to the ship's coat? Its almost like a colour burn effect, but I think it really makes it feel like a majestic technological beast not to be trifled with. ![]() The Mako |

cheers guys. yeh i wouldent say i took mass effect as an inspiration but most "next gen" games use the bloom effect so i suppose it kinda weedled its way into alot of my inspuirations .. i have always liked the idea of the hull kinda "glowing" look at the pictures of the space shuttle under direct sunlight.. or the moon for that matter.. adam when you said make it "pop" what do you mean by that? im gonna look into 2 or 3 different backgrounds i might post some up in a bit :P better get back to it

What I refer to 'popping' is making sure that the background doesn't blend in with the feature of the image.
Generally this is achieved with strong, unique silhouettes and complimentary colours (safe opposites). Futurama is a great example of how to make shuttles stand out in space. Granted, its a vastly different style, but I'm pretty sure Mass effect uses the same principles for the Normandy. ![]() ![]() Edit: Great work man!
