Ya I intended to go overboard with it and make it "too detailed" its the style i was concepting. IMO if you put a regular , light normal mapped, light specular, and light textured prop into a horror style game it wouldnt work as well as one that pushed the intended feeling.

So you can take it out of context and say its too 'this' or too 'that' but keep it mind that there are a million styles out there. I just thought this one might fit the concept i had in mind

Congratulations everyone.

And also, I think that Loom surely deserved the first spot. Some may think that it's not fitting as a "Street prop", which I first thought myslf, although, one can't really say that it's not, as it would entierly depend on what kind of game it's for.

So putting the thought of the model aside, what we got left is some awsome textures. Well use of normals as usual as it comes to being Loom (You got to teach me some stuff about that ) and also a very nice diffuse and specular to go with it

Hey, cool! Congrats to everyone who finished too!

I tried to push my entry to be "out-of-the-box" and unique. I guess maybe a little too much. and yeh, i did receive some controversy over it...lol

I originally had made a neon sign, but thought it would be too safe and unoriginal which made me flip the other way.

So i hope noone feels cheated or anything, im gonna go have a beer at the pub to celebrate my winnings! Woop woop!

Unfortunately havent had much time to get involved with anything on GA for a while, but I'm always watching the comps. LOOM has made some great models in the past comps, so I'm glad to see he won this one. Well done to the others that entered too, as usual some really nice stuff getting made here. Congrats!

I would like to clarify the AO map doylle mentioned. Is it alpha map?

A really nice competition. This was my first one. Waiting for the next. Congrads for the winners and all the participants.
