nice, but i am not feeling the normal map on it, perhaps you should increase the settings on it a little more.

Very nice manhole cover. The modeled in smoke butts look alot better than before. What do you use to render? Is that V-Ray? Your portfolio is amazing, I had to watch your show reel a few times to take everything in! Clearly from looking at your work your quite capable of creating something a little more interesting, but its such a damn good looking manhole cover that I really got you in the top 3 at the moment. Nice work, and I look forward to seeing more of your stuff here in the future.

I took this simple item because I'm lacking the time to do much more lately. I'm just getting back into some personal modeling after a long time (I moved to another country 2 months ago). But I'm getting more and more settled in, and I also need to finish my mod work on Off Limits, so I took a very simple manhole cover because A. it's not too much work, and B. no one else has one ![]() It's not a render actually, it's a screencap from my viewport (print screen) from RoboBlitz (which comes with the unreal3 editor). Glad you liked the demo reel! It took me long enough to get it together ![]() I'm going to edit 3 more things on this model and then post it in the submission thread. But it'll have to wait till tomorrow. (one being the increasing of the cigarette butts ). |

Nice textures, though it feels a bit flat. Perhaps you could increase the depth this way?
[CG Textures] - Be careful not to increase the depth too much on certain details and differences in brightness, where the surface is to remain relatively flat. As the guy did on his manhole cover in this tut.. Looks terrible ![]() Think ya know what I mean...
