Competition #11 - Kinten

- Done- In progress -Not done yet- - Mesh - UVW-map - Basic texture - High poly detail moddeling - Bake textures - Submit! Hello! This is actually my first time posting any of my work on this forum, and also the first ever gfx competition I've entered. Long ago and far, far away I introduced myself, but for those of you who are lazy like me and don't have the time to look that post up, here's a short summery: My name is Pontus Hammarberg and I'm an artist at a small indie company called Oxeye Game Studios. And right now I've been awake for 24 hours+, trying to turn the clock around. That's partly why I'm enetering this competition, to keep me awake, but most of all I really like game-artist-net, and want to contribute to the site in any way I can. So, here we go: I'm going to make a watermill. My vision is to enclose the building in some outdoor surroundings, but still keeping it as a unit. Hope anyone get my tired gibberish, I'll be more precise in later posts. Here's a first render: ![]() ~700 tris (Never mind the roof, it's just the wire goofing around). Cheers!

Thank you Murloc! You've got a nice project going yourself!
I've remade the building and added more details, I'm feeling pretty satisfied with the basic mesh, so I'm moving on to some serious UVW mapping! Current tri-count is exactly 1500! The flour bags are way to heavy (and boring), so the final count might be reduced some when I remake them. New renders: (Green faces are going to be foilage) ![]() ![]()

About the flour bags, I removed the old ones but replaced them with a pile of them instead, you'll see when I'm done texturing. Anyway, I've done the uvw mapping, which took a lot of time, mostly because it's really boring :/, and started making some textures. I'm not sure yet how much of the ground I'll keep, I want to keep it tight and interesting! Also, I might remove the faces representing foilage, but I'll give them a shot with some quick texturing first. WIP render: ![]()

Arrh, the horror!
Slept 4 hours the past 36h trying to get this thing done, past two hours I've just been throwing textures at it. Now I see watermills everywhere. Started uploading to my site 1 minute to 12 pm, sadly I don't think I made the deadline :/. Ah well, it was fun! Now I can at least get a good nights sleep! Good luck guys! (psst, im routing for Yin!) Cheers!
