Competition #11 - Stuntman
Alright, to begin, I'd just like to say that the focus of my entry this time around is improving my texturing abilities. Texturing my models has never really been a big important thing for me, so I figure I ought to start practicing a bit. Along the way, if anyone has any tips that might help me out with the texturing process, I'd greatly appreciate them.
So yeah, I took an hour or so today to sketch up a concept and throw together a quick model. Currently, the model you see below is only at 423 triangles so theres a TON of room for detail, extra buildings and the like. I'm trying to pull off a sort of WWII biological weapons factory... (Obviously I have some work to do before it actually looks like one.) Anyway, first render time. ![]() |

You've already mentioned you have a lot of room for detailing, I think the base structure is solid. If the budget is 1500 tris I'd aim for as close as that as possible.
Also-to really make this stand out you'll have to really go crazy with the textures, pushin them to the limit, just because the old '50s factories are seen so much ya know? Can't wait to see it textured! :-) |
