Competition #11 - UnsteadyTeddy

I am going to make a storage/ production facility in a modern and industrial style. A few crappy sketches but i've got some solid refs to work from. That's all for now.

Blocking in the major details at the moment. Probably going to have to cut down a lot of polies on the silo's for all the details I have in mind ( currently 1033 tris ).
Let me know what you think about the general design, thanks.

The shape looks interesting, but what's that in the foreground? It's hard for me to tell at this point. Is it a depression in the ground?

Finished the modelling stage. Currently at 1468 tris.
Hopefully you can make out what it would do and how it would work, a mining/ resource facility.
The plane going around the viewing platform is going to be an alpha'd rail.

I like the theme a lot, I'm thinking you can do the rails with a normal map and just have a plain on the ground (with alpha). Would allow you do detail the cylinders, factory roof or crane some more. Keep it up bud...

solid work man, i realy like the theme and stlye. Maybe add a plain on the bottom of the crane (even if it was only temporarily) to fix the AO problem...

nice idea, haven't seen this before. I agree with requiem on the tracks, it'd be better to do them with a normal, would give you a smoother result and allow you to detail the roof a bit more. maybe slanting it a bit, putting some windows in it would be a good...

requiem - I never thought about making the tracks with a normal map. Thats a good suggestion and it should free up enough tris for me to make a decent-ish truck for carting away the resources.

doylle - Nice tip for the AO, thanks!

Next update won't be until I start butchering this thing with my texturing ( lack of ) skils.
