Competition #11 - FatJoe
Heey..
Since all RTS's's are allowed I decided to go back to the game that got me into RTS to begin with.. Westwood's awsome C&C Red Alert. I decided to do a kind of my version "redo" of the Forward Command Post, for the soviets (original RA FCP here) only making it buildable and serve a point, as a Forward Command Post. The Forward Command Post would basicly be a lite base in one house. It's purpose would be to establish building place, far away from your main base, for walls and Defensive positions (Pillboxes, MG-nests, Defensive Cannons & SAM sites), but with upgrade system like in the new C&C 3, you could build a couple of extra stuff for the Post. I had in my mind 3 upgrades for the Forward Command Post.. Those would be a cheap Radar upgrade, giving your FCP more field of view.. A Barracks upgrade, giving you the ability to train basic infantry units from the FCP, only slower.. And somekind of a weapon upgrade to support it's surrounding battlefield.. Mortar comes in mind. Every upgrade would have it's own artwork on the FCP, Radar beeing build ontop of it, Barracks represented by a couple of small infantry tents infront of the FCP, and the weapons upgrade represented by, for example, two or three mortars behind the building. Here's a quick "sketch model" of the front part of the FCP, in 3d.. ![]() Decided to throw this up for the evening, see if anyone has anything to say about it befor I start spending time on it ![]() So.. what do you people think? |

Thanks for the ideas.. Sandbags sounds interesting, dunno about the broken glass though..
Just for the sake of the update.. here's an, allready outdated, image of the actual model of the FCP, with all of the available upgrades.. ![]() I've allready added windows, and changed the setting of the mortars, but as I'm at work I'll have to post that up later :P Someone at irc, Captain Cock I think, suggested that I'd switch the tents for MG nests.. going to try it out next, see how it turns out.. |
