Asking myself the same question, maybe some of the "legs" can be overlapped as well as the cranes. Thin you might be ok then if you use a sharper tool to bake with. Love the oil rig concept though, keep it up.

Ahh much better!
I was a little confused by the first render. Yes i think the legs could be put into 4 legs and sperated out a little, they seem to be in the middle of the platform. I like the amount of cranes. Reminds me of somthing........
I guess your gonna put a alpha on some of wires?

i'll rearrange some of the elements later. now i'm thinking whether i should do a more solid low poly mesh or continue fixin' current uv-chunks

Your first render was a total mind**** hehe, reminded me of M.C. Escher's impossible Waterfall for a second.

Question, are you making a futuristic oil rig? or is it more modern day. Excellent detail so far, definatly one to watch

Addi: it'll be an oil rig or perhaps a naval yard, i guess i'm going for something not too futuristic. oh and here's Escher's impossible waterfall made possible by the japanese :P
YouTube - Impossible Waterfall Illusion

Tkaza: plastic? doh, it's supposed to be TONS OF METAL \,,\ >_< /,,/

reworking the low poly mesh atm.
