OK Im back to partake in another competition. Ive already started but i don't have anything to post yet. My model will be of a cathedral though.

in the house with an update.

still got a bit to do on the modelling but its getting close. Sitting at 1200 tri. It really needs a texture to be appreciated though. its a fairly complex design.

Really sweet model, mate. Nice and complex form for such a low polycount.

Look forward to seeing this one textured

Beware of z-fighting, I can see some areas on your viewport shot that are clipping through the mesh infront of it.

I do absolutely love this one, it reminds me of the Cores Energy Weapon Tower in Total Annihilation (omg that was 1997!? I'm getting old).

Remember to put doors on it somewhere, buildings need those

hey guys i need help!

ok i am to the point where i am UVing my model, but i hit a small wall. Ive worked in odd sizes before ie 512x256, but its really bothering me this time. i took a screen to illustrate the problem. I want my sheet to be 512x1024, but when i change the uv size (in Red) it makes my map stretched, which is understandable, but the problem is that my checkers in the viewport arnt stretched. It thinks that, that is the normal resolution. SO when i go to resize my UVS to the right proportions it messes up the viewport display, so i have no idea if im sizing the uv's correctly. IM using the UV plugin seen in the picture (forgot what its called, but its pretty popular perhaps you guys use it)



i basically want to here your guys workflow, for dealing with odd map sizes.
