Im no RTS expert but I kind of started a model based around the first world war.
Its not a building as such but a small section of a trench i'd see being used as a mini barracks etc. Would this be ok? or should I go to plan B and keep modeling Tangmere airfield (battle of britain theme) |

Hey guys, can i just get clarification on something.
I just got a funky idea for a building, but does it actually have to fit into the style of an existing rts game? Medieval 2 is the only rts game i play, so my idea is original and not based on buildings from c&c, starcraft or whatever, is this fine?

Yes, it's fine. You can be original.

Hmmm... not sure. Depends on what you're doing
This is a RTS building comp so a ride won't fit the theme. Even if you make a ticket booth for example you still depend on people to bring you money so this might not work as well.Quote:

I would keep it simple though... if the environment looks better then your building you're in the wrong comp ![]()

What do you mean? You don't have to give away your model.
Comps are really helpful though, you get to practice, you get a lot more feedback then you would get in the WIP section of the forum, you are forced to finish fast so in the end you'll have a nice portfolio model. You get a lot ![]()
