Competition #10 - aegix

Starting a bit late but I think I can finish in time.

I decided to go in a different direction to most entries... everyone seems to be making pickups for FPS games so they're already constrained to some degree by scale. I'm going for the RTS pickup: an airdropped supply crate

Progress so far:

Just the first pass of the high poly... trying to get a convincing cloth look going but I'm not sure how well it's working out o_O I've never done cloth before. All the netting and stuff will come once I've got the rest worked out. The parachute is going to be tricky.

Oh damn... it says "geared towards an FPS" in the rules :P It can just be for a greedy soldier then I guess. I know you can drop supplies in Battlefield 2. If an admin thinks I'm breaking the rules, let me know.

That's one big pick-up. I'm not sure if it will work for this come... there is another big pick-up in here... so maybe. But I suggest going with something else. If you want to be original don't go with big... try a different approach

So is it allowed? Can I get a Yes/No answer? If it's not I'll continue it in the WIP forum... having too much fun with it to give it up now

It is ammo afterall, if it were for some mech game they'd definitely not be picking up rifle mags. It's a risk with the judges but have fun with it, good start

A bit more to do on the netting... quite pleased with how it's coming along.

Been busy the last few days, not a lot of time to work on it

Strapping done, trying to figure out how I'm going to do the low poly and the parachute.
