Competition #10 - glynnsmith

I'm getting a trifle bit bored of the usual heart pickups and want to make something a bit gritty. Something with a bit of edge.

I'm going to be making a zombie arm, that will be holding up human organs for the anti-hero to eat as he roams the urban battlefield. In this case, it'll be an *incredibly gory* human heart, with valves and veins and ventricles and aortas.

Lovely stuff.

Incredibly rough draft of the arm. Purple sphere's ftw:

Heh, I really dig this idea Glynn. Puts my ordinary ammo-box to shame
Hoping to see progress, definetly going to follow this thread.

Note to Grizzly: It's a zombie arm.

J: Cheers dude. I'm digging your concept, too and I'll be over very shortly to tell you!

Zein: I didn't mean to diss your work bro. I've been making gibs the last couple of days, so I wanted to do something a little "out there" and with loads of gore :P \o/

WIP Heart tomorrow, methinks

Think it'd be sweet if the zombie arm transitioned from skin to flesh to bone at the bottom, that good old ripped off feeling Look forward to seeing the heart !

Still early days yet. I am a liar though - haven't started the heart yet. I started messing around with one of the fingers, and I didn't realise I'd given the hand a bit of an overhaul until, well, I realised *cough*

The whole decomposing element of it isn't apparent on the model, yet. Some bones showing through is a must. It is a zombie arm, after all

Really enjoying working on this. Got the base mesh nearly sorted, so I think I'll try and chuck this into Mudbox for a bit of detail (which I haven't tried yet).

The arm muscular anatomy needs sorting as it's pretty much untouched so far. Still heavily WIP.

Cheers!

Coming along, dude :P

I think the knucles are a little too pronounced. If the hands in that pose, it should be more tendon showing than knuckle, especially on a withered and sinewy limb :P

Some nice, pronounced bony knuckles on the fingers would look good, though...

Aye. Knuckles were next on the list. Oh god I hate knuckles With it being a mutated zombie limb, I want to have everything pronounced on it, so it looks contorted and uncomfortable I might make it even more extreme, yet, tbh

I'm going for the old facehugger on a stick, playing air guitar look. I think I've just about nailed it.

The thumb needs fixing still, but it's getting there.

<3 time soon. Wewt.

Agreed, it looks great
I love that bony look with pronounced features, and you're pulling it of real good.
