Right.. whipped up a concept of a hacking device, in photoshop.

I thought of a bit more governmental object, meaning things are a bit more simpler and easier for the user.
All the user has to do is insert the card into the slot of a card-door lock. This then connects to the internet and allows the gurus back at base to take care of the rest. The cover for the card also serves as a computer hacking device connected through USB and allows, again, the gurus at the base to roam around the computer and transfer/copy/delete files there.

Anyway.. I've got to hurry my self to work now :P

what if somehow the internet is blocked or?! then he can't do anything, and it is only useable for 1 type of locks.. maybe you can make some changes in that,

Good point, well made.

I had thought a bit of it, but decided to leave it out for the first sketch as I was a bit short on time to reach work ( amazing how those things can get into ones way :þ ) but wanted to get the idea out of my head.

So, I thought about having a simple keypad on the cover unit, a connector on the side of it and a bigger LCD screen for more menulike options, giving him the ability to work on the codes himself if the internet fails. on the cover unit theres also a small hard disk for the user to copy the files himself.

I'll work on it more when I get back home.

Thanks for the points

Very nice FatJoe, concept looks great, hopefully you can find a way to not make the white too boring / ipodish Good luck, look forward to the 3D version.

Updated the concept.

With a keypad, bigger LCD screen, and a small holster for the cables and such, in case the internet fails. The keypad can be used to create letters too, just like on phones (pressing 3 two times gives you an E :þ) Also, it has an up and down arrow and a confirmation key (enter), if/when needed.

Oh.. and I made it a bit less ipod-ish

Next up is the 3d model, hopefully..

Thanks Fasth

So.. update, ayone?

loPoly version done. Figured I'd just do a lo poly version and do the normal map in photoshop.. crazy huh? :P
This would be my first real Normal Map so I'm a stick with something I know, instead of taking the fast complex way as I haven't got the hang of it yet.
Anyway, the model:

Tthe model is about 350 polygons. I could add more details but as it's allready unwraped and the fact that I'm new at that too, I just didn't feel like starting all over again.
So yeah, it's unwraped and ready for some texture work. Back to photoshop
The model unwraped and checkered:

Ohh! I'll render a quick Wireframe for you people too.. hold ons
..there:

Next up: Diffuse, Normal and Spec maps.
