About that newspaper, I think either way you have it is fine, but as a suggestion, I do agree with psycholord that it should be in german.
I know it doesn't say a whole lot, but one thing I love in video games is finding something that I don't know the meaning of, and then reading somewhere later about it's relevance in the game, even if it's not a huge issue inside the game itself, it still has that "oh so thats what that was" factor.
However not everybody thinks like that and people tend to just look at things like the newspaper and go "eh, some wierd language" before walking off :P
So yup, either way is fine, it's not really a huge issue.
