Name of boss:
Bean can man
Type of game
Either a violent but cartoony style game or a nice childrens platform game, perhaps it could be based around a household, where it's a war between everything and anything from giant broom sticks, vaccum cleaners, knife monsters and so on.
Perhaps in a similar style to the wonderful game otherwise known as "conquers bad fur day"
Design
He has forks for arms, and bent spoons for legs, his body is a tin of beans, and the lid can animate to open and shut while he does an attack or defence.
He had big angry cartoon eyes and a squiggly mouth that would animate depending on the emotion (not many emotions though since he's a grumpy can).
So far the entire scene is 1048 polys (with beans), it is 600 (without beans),the can man being 596 polys (excluding the 4 polys used for the 2 poly planes).
The beans are 112 polys each and are really only use just for the hell of putting them in the scene. If it were a game, they would be 2d sprites.
For the environment, I used a simple poly plane for the area he is standing on, which is meant to represent a table top. And I used a picture I took of part of my kitchen as the background. Which I intend to blur and make into a Depth of field kindof appearance.
Attacks
The Bean can man has forks for arms which he can use to prod with or swipe with.
He also is filled with beans, and his lid will open so that he can shoot bean bombs at the player which are filled with methane.
His special attack is a spin attack, which opens his lid up and covers his eyes, his arms go out wide, and his spoon legs become a sortof ballarina pose, which he then spins around in and flings bean bombs up into the air which the player has to avoid. The player also has to watch out for the fork arms.
Defence
If the character only had melee attacks, and tried to hit the bean can man, it would flick him away with the lid.
WHY?!
I made this idea purely on the thought of doing something a bit less mainstream, something more creative than the typical goblins, and other monsters/bosses we typically see in games now days.
Renders
(pointing pose, as he gets ready to aim and is firing his bean bombs albeit they arent really textured properly)

(512x512 Alpha which is only needed for the mouth area and perhaps eyebrows later)

WHAT MORE NEEDS TO BE DONE
-Earlier today, I had a full finished texture and it looked great, then photoshop crashed and I lost it all.
I only need to spend about 15mins more on the tin can so that it has that rippled aluminium can look to it and it also needs the metal lip at the top and bottom of the side of the can.
-I'm thinking of giving the Bean can man a knife on his primary attacking arm rather than having 2 forks, just to mix it up a little and give it some flavour so to speak...besides, everyone needs a knife to scrape up the beans on the plate.
-The knife and fork textures are super basic and I want to give them a better look, so I might actually first make them more details as I have PLENTY of polys to spare, and then give them a more dirty look or something.
-The background could be edited to be blurry to give a depth of field effect for the render
Other than that, I can't think of much more other than to give him more detail and pose him in different poses.
