I like his collor and material decision! Very good execution. final render looks great.
Dynast Blade:
This is truly an insect-character, it has a good balanced form, and readability of the silhouette. All details are looking neat and soft. The character looks as the good toy soldier, not as 3d. I want to catch him and put him into my jar

Finally you modelled it witha proper number of polygons and I love how you posed your small character. This character has an outstanding weapon on his left forehand (it's needle). It's plus aspect as well. However it would be nicer if you had more time to work on the normal map a bit more (ie wrinkles on belly and middle body).
Crazyfool:
You have a good sense of capturing what a character should have it. The concept is pretty general but your modeling and texturing is simply awesome. You made this character with years of experience i think. On the other hand, it would be cooler, if you put an occlusion map into color map and specular map. but overall it's my favorite choice.
Funkdedic:
I love your honeybee concept. and you also have a big sense of humor on your texture and modeling . You put some mechanic texture on eyes and face, which looks neat. You made this honeybee more like a warfare style. You did make it a bit to clean though. It would've been more fun and inspiring if you made it a bit more dirty.

Beautiful use of colours, specular map and lighting to make this pop and contrast with the black underbelly. Also a cool pose that makes this guy look like a maniac. Best all round entry and winner for me
Crazyfool:
Really good modeling made for a great normal map, that works really well on the low mesh. The background for the presentation stopped this from placing higher though as it washes out the textures and stops the yellow of the wasp from popping
Reeke:
The best use of specular of all the entries and a nice clean presentation that really compliments the models colours. I love the MC escher look to the biomech details Very crisp for a 1024 texture and my favourite diffuse map of all the entries. A very close 2nd place
