If we have a scheduled event (at a specific time & date), maybe 10% of the folks that would usually compete would actually take part. If we have a week long event, we probably have one or two cheating themselves. Do I want to leave out the 90% of artists that usually take part because I'm trying to stop 1-2 cheaters? No, this is a learning tool which we'd like to open to as many people as possible. I understand your competition mindset but the thought-process is larger than that. I think you're right requiem, i find that even if you did remove the honour system, people will still do these competetions..why? maybe for the hell of it, and quite possibly learn a new thing about themselves or not. I visit this site nearly every day, trying to get some new info and grab inspiration, and i can honestly say judging from alot of peoples work they blow me away! i only wish i found out about this site 2 yrs ago...but none the less, LEARNING NEVER STOPS!
