I'm new to the challenges too and was sort of wondering the same thing. Is the speed modeling challenge supposed to produce low poly, game ready versions of models? Or does the poly count matter? I'm wondering because this is a game art forum.
Edit: After doing some reading in the
Regulations & Direction post, I found an answer to the poly count question.
"It is entirely your choice how you want to structure your workflow, place detail or decide the
amount of tri's you want to use!"
