This was a really fun one.. wish I'd had more time to work on it though. So, once again, I didn't quite finish, yet got further as I didn't spend as much time watching the refs this time

And as said, I ran out of time, which might explain the crazy poly-distrobution and some lack of detail/lots of instanced geometry.

Anyhow, it was really fun making.. Also tried out a new way of rendering.

Surprised none had made this kind of robot yet

/edit: Oh, forgot to add my workflow. Well.. let's see then. I started out by searching around on google to find some good references and ideas. Then I found this little chap and decided to model him.

I searched up some more references and got myself a side/front-view reference image so that I can make sure the scale is somewhat correct and coherent.

Put it into max, started out with a little box which I reshaped and extruded etc. to create his feet. Used other simply primitives which I reshaped going up the legs, body etc.. etc...

Then I began running out of time and quickly thre together some hands, a head and backpack/antennas for him. The only thing which wasn't instanced/made out of a simple primitive were the atennas which were made out of lines.

Don't really know what more to say. There's not much more to it really. I just watched some refs and modeled along.. and as some of the refs were different I had to improvise a bit and somehow make it fit together.

Cheers!
