Good article. I have to admit i can be quite unproductive at times, with Gmail chat running, my email open, and my browser on CGtalk and Plime!
However, i have to differ about the earphones. I find it much easier to switch off when I'm listening to streaming audio or my MP3 player. But then again, I work in a studio environment, with people coming and going the whole time. It is very easy to get distracted when there are human elements involved!
