Speed Modeling Forum
General
Who are you competing against ?
Yourself. These challenges are for your benefit, what you choose to make out of them is up to you. It is entirely your choice how you want to structure your workflow, place detail or decide the amount of tri's you want to use !
Who is on your team ?
Everybody else. This is a learning challenge and isn't a competition against others, quite the opposite. The goal here is to create your own piece and then learn from others, what did you do well, what can you improve on? By working on the same piece at the same time you'll be able to discuss it together, for example, where did you start or did you use any specific modifiers, functions or tools?
Rules
A Speed Modeling challenge will be opened when a new thread goes up for a real life piece or detailed concept image, references will be provided.
Artists participating:
- Timeframe will be told in thread.
- Must provide wires (ideally you want a GI render with a 10%-20% opacity wire over it)
- Must tell us:
- With what base you started?
- Application used?
- Which special modifiers / functions did you use?
- Any other information which you think others may find helpful
- Collections of undetailed primatives do not make a valid submission.
- The clock starts ticking from the moment you open your 3D application, and stops when your final render is finished.
This is all for your own benefit, so if you're only 90% done, go ahead and post that. Working under pressure and improving your work flow isn't something that comes without practice
We look forward to getting this show on the road
